CAPTURED IN TIME—1930s ERWIN ON FILM
On Thursday, February 12, at 7 pm, we’re screening rare black and white film footage shot in Erwin between 1937 and 1939 by documentary filmmaker H. Lee Waters. The 40 minute film has been paired with 1930s style music to match the pace and mood of the original footage. This event is part of our lead-up to our town’s 100th Birthday Celebration!
You’ll see everyday life unfolding. People walking downtown, kids riding bikes, people meeting on sidewalks, and smiling neighbors pausing to notice the camera. Back then, the social network was Main Street, and everyone was part of it, whether they knew it or not.
Hosted by the Erwin Historical Society Museum, this is an invitation to step into history and see our town as it once was.
Come spend time with Erwin’s past.
